Welcome to Lajes Field, Azores!
The U.S. Air Force and Portuguese Air Force have developed a strong partnership that dates back to the 1940s.
Our mission is to enable the expeditionary movement of warfighters, warplanes, and global communications to combatant commanders; support joint, coalition, and NATO operations; and promote regional partnerships.
The wing provides base and en route support for the Department of Defense, allied nations and other authorized aircraft transiting the installation.
