65th Services Squadron

The 65th Services Squadron serves the recreation, morale and general welfare needs of Lajes military personnel, civilian employees, and their families as well as more than 30,000 transients every year; is responsible for 59 facilities and more than $150 million in assets, including 296 lodging rooms; and directs mortuary affairs and maintains a 26-person search and recovery team.

65th Security Forces Squadron

The 65th Security Forces Squadron enables airpower by providing physical security, police services, resource protection and antiterrorism/force protection for all U.S. and allied forces at Lajes Field.

65th Medical Support Squadron

The 65th Medical Support Squadron provides medical, dental, and preventive support services; provides clinical ancillary services, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, business operations, beneficiary services, personnel and administration, medical information systems, logistics and maintenance of war readiness materials.

65th Medical Operation Squadron

The 65th Medical Operation Squadron providing medical, dental, and preventive services; services include family practice, mental health, physical therapy, dentistry, pediatrics, acute care, 24-hour ambulance coverage, public health, optometry, bioenvironmental engineering, health promotions, occupational health and aerospace medicine.

65th Communications Squadron

The 65th Communications Squadron provides full-spectrum communications to enable expeditionary forces; enables expeditionary forces by providing air traffic control, secure command, control, communication, computer information and world-wide weather systems supporting all U.S. and allied forces operating at this remote location; provides all postal services for 65th Air Base Wing and its associate units and direct communications support to all in-flight emergencies transiting the mid-Atlantic.

65th Civil Engineer Squadron

The 65th Civil Engineer Squadron enables expeditionary forces by providing and protecting facilities and the environment to sustain air and space power in support of the U.S. and its allies at a strategically located remote air base; applies a $21 million budget annually to serve facility, housing and readiness needs, including the production of power and water for more than 3,000 personnel; develops mission-ready civil engineers to meet worldwide contingency requirements.
